Hair restoration

Two quotes, three times apart,
for different operations.

We explain what actually sits behind a graft count, so you can read a quote before you sign it.

The options

What each one actually involves

Described, not ranked. Which one suits you is a clinical decision, and it belongs to the practitioner who examines you.

  • FUE

Follicles extracted individually and placed into opened channels. The most common technique, and what most quotes describe.

  • DHI

Extraction and placement with an implanter pen, without opening channels first. Smaller sessions, denser placement, higher price.

  • Beard and eyebrow restoration

The same technique with different donor planning and much smaller sessions.

  • Medical treatment

Prescribed treatment to slow ongoing loss. A transplant moves hair; it does not stop the process that caused the loss.

What to ask

What separates one clinic from another here

Take these with you. A practice that answers them without hesitating is telling you something a website never will.

  • 01

    Who places the grafts

Does the surgeon place the grafts personally, or technicians? And how many patients are operated on in a day?

  • 02

    How grafts are counted

Is the price per graft or a package, and who counts them — is the final number recorded?

  • 03

    The hairline

Will the hairline be drawn on my face and agreed with me before anything starts?

  • 04

    Follow-up

Are the six and twelve month reviews included? Twelve months is when the result can actually be judged.

  • 05

    If density falls short

What is the written policy if the density is not what was planned?

How we match you

What a search cannot do for you

  • We know who turns patients away

A clinic telling you that you are not a good candidate makes for terrible advertising. It is the first sign of a serious practice, and you cannot see it anywhere online.

  • We know what a quote leaves out

What gets billed on top is the biggest source of unpleasant surprises, and it only becomes visible once you have read a great many quotes.

  • We stay after the introduction

A search ends at the click. Dana is still answering three weeks later.

The journey

What Dana does at every step

A search ends at the click. This is the part that carries on afterwards.

  1. Day 0, after the quiz

    Your match is confirmed

Dana confirms the match, explains why this clinic, and sends the slot.

  2. Day 0

    Before you go in

A preparation sheet built from your answers: the questions worth asking in consultation.

  3. Day 1

    Consultation booked

If the clinic has not come back within 24 hours, Dana chases them, then looks again.

  4. After the consultation

    You receive a quote

Send it to Dana. You get told what is missing against what is normally quoted, and what usually gets billed on top.

  5. Before the procedure

    Scheduling and preparation

Reminders, a preparation checklist, and help with the insurance paperwork.

  6. Day 1, 7 and 30

    Recovery and check-ups

Dana checks in, and reminds you about the follow-up appointments.

  7. Any time

    Language

If the consultation did not happen in your language, Dana relays.

  8. Any time

    Second opinion

Ask, and we arrange one at another clinic in the network.

Dana handles logistics, preparation and follow-up. She gives no clinical advice, no diagnosis and no interpretation of results — every medical question goes to your clinic.

Is this right for you?

Where you stand today

This usually works well if…

  • Your hairline has receded steadily over several years and has now settled.
  • You have thick donor hair at the back and sides.
  • You have had a previous transplant that looks unnatural and want it assessed.
  • You want to know whether you are too early for surgery, and are willing to be told you are.

You’ll want a proper assessment first if…

  • Your loss is recent and fast, which is worth investigating before anything is moved.
  • Your thinning is diffuse rather than patterned, which affects whether the donor area can support a transplant.
  • You are under 25, when the eventual pattern is not yet clear and placing a hairline is a long bet.

What recovery actually looks like

A long day in the chair, then about ten days of visible healing. Transplanted hair sheds within weeks, regrows from month three or four, and is judged at twelve months. Anyone showing you a finished result at three months is not describing hair biology.

Questions

What people ask us about this

How many grafts do I need?

It depends on the area and your donor density, and it cannot be settled from a photograph. Treat any number quoted before an examination as a sales figure.

Why are two quotes so far apart?

Mostly surgeon involvement and how many patients are treated in a day. Cheaper packages are technician-led at volume. That is not automatically bad, but you should know which one you are buying.

Will I need a second session?

Often, particularly with a large area or continuing loss. Ask now what a second session would cost, while you still have leverage.

Does a transplant stop hair loss?

No. It redistributes hair that is resistant to loss. Without medical treatment the untransplanted hair usually keeps thinning around it.
