an expensive blood test.

What each one actually involves
Described, not ranked. Which one suits you is a clinical decision, and it belongs to the practitioner who examines you.
Comprehensive diagnostic panel
Bloods, metabolic and hormonal screening, body composition, cardiovascular assessment. Everything after this depends on it being thorough.
Advanced imaging
Whole-body MRI and cardiac scoring. Genuinely useful, and also prone to finding harmless anomalies — ask how those are handled.
Hormone assessment
Thyroid, adrenal and sex hormones, with physician-supervised correction where the results justify it.
Medically supervised weight management
Metabolic testing, nutrition and, where clinically indicated and prescribed, medical treatment — with monitoring throughout.
Sleep and cardiometabolic testing
Continuous glucose monitoring, lipid subfractions, sleep studies. The measures that most often change what people actually do.
What separates one clinic from another here
Take these with you. A practice that answers them without hesitating is telling you something a website never will.
- 01
What the panel covers
“What is actually included, and just as importantly, what is not?”
- 02
Who explains the results
“Do I get a consultation with a doctor, or a PDF of numbers?”
- 03
What happens next
“Is there a written action plan, and are the three and six month reviews included?”
- 04
Imaging on site
“Is imaging done here, or referred out and billed separately?”
- 05
Incidental findings
“If something unexpected shows up, who follows it up and who refers me on?”
What a search cannot do for you
We know what a quote leaves out
What gets billed on top is the biggest source of unpleasant surprises, and it only becomes visible once you have read a great many quotes.
We filter on things you cannot search for
The practitioner's language, their gender, instalment plans, insurance handling, how closely you are guided. No search engine indexes any of it.
We stay after the introduction
A search ends at the click. Dana is still answering three weeks later.
What Dana does at every step
A search ends at the click. This is the part that carries on afterwards.
Day 0, after the quiz
Your match is confirmed
Dana confirms the match, explains why this clinic, and sends the slot.
Day 0
Before you go in
A preparation sheet built from your answers: the questions worth asking in consultation.
Day 1
Consultation booked
If the clinic has not come back within 24 hours, Dana chases them, then looks again.
After the consultation
You receive a quote
Send it to Dana. You get told what is missing against what is normally quoted, and what usually gets billed on top.
Before the procedure
Scheduling and preparation
Reminders, a preparation checklist, and help with the insurance paperwork.
Day 1, 7 and 30
Recovery and check-ups
Dana checks in, and reminds you about the follow-up appointments.
Any time
Language
If the consultation did not happen in your language, Dana relays.
Any time
Second opinion
Ask, and we arrange one at another clinic in the network.
Dana handles logistics, preparation and follow-up. She gives no clinical advice, no diagnosis and no interpretation of results — every medical question goes to your clinic.
Where you stand today
This usually works well if…
- You feel fine but would rather know than assume.
- Something runs in your family and you want to know where you stand.
- Your energy, sleep or weight has changed and routine tests came back normal.
- You want a baseline now so that future results mean something.
You’ll want a proper assessment first if…
- You have a symptom that is bothering you — that belongs with a doctor now, not in a screening programme.
- You are already under specialist care, in which case this should complement it rather than duplicate it.
- You are considering hormone treatment, which needs proper baseline testing before anything is prescribed.
What recovery actually looks like
There is nothing to recover from. Testing takes half a day to two days depending on the panel, results follow within a week or two, and the consultation is where the value is.
How it went for other people
“A doctor went through every result with me for an hour. I had been expecting a PDF.”

What people ask us about this
Is this just an expensive check-up?
It can be, and some are. The difference is whether a doctor sits down with the results and turns them into a plan, and whether anyone measures again later. Ask both questions before booking.
What if the scan finds something?
Comprehensive imaging frequently finds harmless anomalies. What matters is that the clinic has a clear route for following them up rather than handing you a worrying report and an invoice.
Does it replace my own doctor?
No. These are preventive programmes, not primary care, and the results should go to whoever manages your health. Dana Picks gives no medical advice at all.
Is weight management part of this?
At many clinics, yes — as a medically supervised programme with testing and monitoring, prescribed only where it is clinically appropriate. It is a medical pathway, not a product.
