What's covered

Every part of fertility treatment & ivf

Tell us which of these you're considering and we'll shortlist clinics that actually perform it.

  • IVF (in vitro fertilisation)

Eggs collected, fertilised in the lab, an embryo transferred. What varies most between clinics is not the technique but the lab.

    From €3,500

  • ICSI

A single sperm injected directly into an egg. Standard where male-factor infertility is involved.

    From €4,000

  • Egg donation

Donor eggs with your partner's or donor sperm. Rules on donor anonymity and payment differ sharply by country — check what applies where you go.

    From €5,000

  • Sperm donation

Donor sperm with IUI or IVF. Access for single women and same-sex couples varies by country, and is one of the main reasons people travel.

    From €1,500

  • Embryo freezing and transfer

Storing embryos for later. A frozen transfer costs far less than a full cycle, which changes the arithmetic across several attempts.

    From €1,200

  • Genetic testing (PGT-A)

Screening embryos for chromosome number before transfer. Evidence for its benefit depends heavily on age — ask what it changes in your case.

    From €2,000

  • Egg freezing

Collecting and storing eggs for later use. Priced per cycle, plus annual storage — ask for both figures.

    From €2,500

The destinations worth considering

Each has a different trade-off between price, travel and how easy follow-up is.

  • Spain

Europe's largest donor programme and short waiting times; donation is anonymous by law.

  • Czechia

Well-established, lower cost than Spain, strong donor availability.

  • Greece

Competitive pricing and permissive rules on donor age and single-patient access.

  • Northern Cyprus

Fewer legal restrictions than the EU, which cuts both ways — the framework is looser.

What we check

The questions you shouldn’t have to know to ask

Most of what separates a good outcome from a bad one is settled before you travel, in details a first-time patient has no reason to think of.

  • The clinic is registered and licensed in its country, and we have seen the paperwork.

  • The doctor who would treat you is named, licensed, and actually performs this procedure.

  • The quote states what is included and what is not, so two clinics can be compared side by side.

  • That success rates are given per transfer and by age band — a single headline percentage tells you nothing about your odds.

  • What the legal position is for donor treatment in that country, and what it means for the child's later access to information.

  • Which drugs, scans and freezing are inside the cycle price and which are billed on top.

Questions

What people ask us about this

How many trips does a cycle involve?

Usually two: monitoring can often be done at home, then you travel for collection and again for transfer, or combine them. Clinics differ, so ask before booking flights.

Are the published success rates trustworthy?

Treat any single number with suspicion. Ask for live birth rate per embryo transfer, split by age band, for the most recent full year. A clinic that won't break it down that way is choosing not to.

Is donor treatment legal where I live?

It depends entirely on your country, and so do the rules on anonymity, donor age and who may be treated. Check your own law before you commit — we can point you at the questions, but we are not lawyers.

What does a cycle really cost?

The advertised price is rarely the total. Medication commonly adds €1,000-2,000, and freezing, storage and testing more. Ask for an all-in figure for your specific plan.
