Sometimes it's one procedure.
Sometimes it's none.
We start by working out what has actually changed, before anyone discusses an operation.

What each one actually involves
Described, not ranked. Which one suits you is a clinical decision, and it belongs to the practitioner who examines you.
Diastasis recti repair
Closing the separation between the abdominal muscles. Often the functional core of the operation, with the cosmetic result following from it.
Abdominoplasty
Removing loose skin, usually combined with muscle repair. The muscle work is the part exercise cannot do.
Breast lift or augmentation
Repositioning, restoring volume, or both. A lift and an implant solve different problems and are often confused.
Breast reduction
Frequently done for back and shoulder pain rather than appearance.
Non-surgical options
Physiotherapy, skin tightening and time. Sometimes the right answer, and rarely the one offered first.
What separates one clinic from another here
Take these with you. A practice that answers them without hesitating is telling you something a website never will.
- 01
The surgeon's registration
“Are you registered as a plastic surgeon specifically, and can I see it on the register?”
- 02
The facility
“Is the facility licensed for general anaesthetic and an overnight stay?”
- 03
Diastasis as a functional problem
“Do you assess and repair diastasis as a functional issue, or only as part of a cosmetic procedure?”
- 04
Combining procedures
“How many procedures would you combine in one operation, and how long would I be under?”
- 05
Aftercare
“What does follow-up include — garments, physiotherapy, how many reviews?”
What a search cannot do for you
We know who turns patients away
A clinic telling you that you are not a good candidate makes for terrible advertising. It is the first sign of a serious practice, and you cannot see it anywhere online.
We filter on things you cannot search for
The practitioner's language, their gender, instalment plans, insurance handling, how closely you are guided. No search engine indexes any of it.
We stay after the introduction
A search ends at the click. Dana is still answering three weeks later.
What Dana does at every step
A search ends at the click. This is the part that carries on afterwards.
Day 0, after the quiz
Your match is confirmed
Dana confirms the match, explains why this clinic, and sends the slot.
Day 0
Before you go in
A preparation sheet built from your answers: the questions worth asking in consultation.
Day 1
Consultation booked
If the clinic has not come back within 24 hours, Dana chases them, then looks again.
After the consultation
You receive a quote
Send it to Dana. You get told what is missing against what is normally quoted, and what usually gets billed on top.
Before the procedure
Scheduling and preparation
Reminders, a preparation checklist, and help with the insurance paperwork.
Day 1, 7 and 30
Recovery and check-ups
Dana checks in, and reminds you about the follow-up appointments.

Language
If the consultation did not happen in your language, Dana relays.

Second opinion
Ask, and we arrange one at another clinic in the network.
Dana handles logistics, preparation and follow-up. She gives no clinical advice, no diagnosis and no interpretation of results — every medical question goes to your clinic.
Where you stand today
This usually works well if…
- Your weight has been stable for six months or more and something still has not gone back.
- You have a gap in your abdominal muscles that core work has not closed.
- You have been told a tummy tuck is the answer and want to understand what that actually involves.
- You want to know whether anything surgical is needed at all.
You’ll want a proper assessment first if…
- You gave birth recently — most surgeons wait until things have settled, which is a timing question rather than a no.
- You are still breastfeeding, which affects both timing and what is recommended for the breast.
- You are planning another pregnancy, which can undo muscle repair and usually changes the advice.
What recovery actually looks like
Abdominal surgery with muscle repair means two weeks off your feet and six before anything strenuous. Breast surgery is quicker. Any surgeon who glosses over the recovery is not preparing you properly.
How it went for other people
What people ask us about this
Do I have to have surgery?
No, and part of the point of the assessment is finding out. Some things respond to physiotherapy and time; some do not. A clinic that reaches for the operating list first is not assessing you.
How soon after birth can anything be done?
Most surgeons want your weight stable and, for abdominal work, breastfeeding finished. That is usually somewhere past a year, though it depends on you.
Should I wait until I'm done having children?
For muscle repair, most surgeons say yes, since a later pregnancy can undo it. Worth asking directly rather than finding out afterwards.
Can everything be done at once?
Sometimes, but longer operations carry more risk and some surgeons will refuse beyond a point. A surgeon who agrees to every combination without hesitation is telling you something.
